Location: Route 3

Pokemon: Pancham Lv. 12

A little further down the road, following directly on from our previous article, you’ll bump into Schoolgirl Hannah. You shouldn’t have too much trouble with this one, especially if you’ve been capturing a few Pokemon on the different Routes.

Hannah will only bring out one Pokemon: Pancham, which is a Fighting Type. This makes it weak to Flying, Psychic and Fairy Type. It’s resistant to Rock, Bug and Dark Type, but has no immunity.

Guide

First thing you’re likely to notice with Pancham is that it will not take a great deal of damage from normal physical attacks. This is because it has a very high defence rating, much like other Fighting types. Where possible then you’ll want to stick to special attacks.

Also, your starter may not be able to hit any of those weaknesses just yet, depending on your choice and level. We really enjoy this though, because it gives us an opportunity to use some of the Pokemon that have been captured. In particular, you might notice that our screenshot shows a non-starter choice…

Recommended Pokemon

Yes that’s right, way back in Route 1 you might have captured a Rookidee and perhaps even used it to take down some opponents in the wild area. If so then it will make light work of Pancham with it’s Peck attack.

If you’ve been lucky enough to grab a Hoothoot on those same routes then it will also have flying attacks that work too.

Wilds hunters may have also found Pidove and Wingull that can do well, though in the case of the latter you’ll need to be level 15 before you get a Flying move.

So how did our battle go? Well, she doesn’t look to pleased does she. Our Rookidee easily defeated her Pancham, taking only a single Peck attack to beat it!

Time to continue down Route 3!
