Healers Ranked Worst To Best | Persona Q2

In a Persona title, which healer performs best is a question that isn’t often asked. Most of the time these games come with a specific cast, of which one or two members are considered the de facto healers. Persona 5 had Morgana, Persona 3 Yukari, and even backup healers like Ann and Makoto that, whilst having a reduced spell list, still proved helpful in restoring health. In Persona Q2 the player has access to all of the characters from Persona 3, 4 and 5, so the options available are bigger than ever. These characters however, do not have an identical skill list to those in their base game, so throwing your favourite healer into the team might not work out like you imagined. Thus we come to the zenith of our article; the presence of sub-persona means that anybody can take on healing, but which characters are best suited to the role in their base form?

6. Makoto

Makoto, Persona Q2

The first of our six choices here is Makoto, but before we get into her abilities it’s worth noting one thing: No matter the character, the presence of sub persona means that you can technically get healing from any source. That said, Makoto is not the best choice, far from it actually. She only gains access to a few single target heals, being Diarama and Diarahan, and whilst her magic statistic is very good, her options are far too limited. She’ll make a great ‘backup’ healer, perhaps in a secondary slot within your team to help patch up large amounts of single target damage, but she’s not strong enough to support the entire team alone.

Healer Skills

  • Diarama – Medium HP restored to 1 target.
  • Diarahan – Full HP restored to 1 target.
  • Medium Magic statistic.

5. Teddie

Teddie, Persona Q2

Next up is everyones favourite mascot from Persona 4, Teddie. We’re not about to claim that he has the very best arsenal on offer, but he’s certainly more well equipped to keep the party going than Makoto. In all honesty, you can likely make your way through the first few dungeons based on the healing that Teddie provides, and much like Makoto he can certainly be used to provide additional healing, but when the going gets tough he can be found lacking. Unfortunately, he’s also outdone with regards to Ice damage by the weakness exploiting Mitsuru, so it doesn’t surprise us that he’s regularly quite a sad Teddie.

Healer Skills

  • Media – Light HP restored to all allies.
  • Mediarama – Medium HP restored to all allies.
  • Samarecarm – Revive 1 ally with full HP.
  • Amrita – Full HP heal and removal of all ailments & binds to 1 target.
  • High Magic statistic.

4. Ann

Ann, Persona Q2

Next up is everyones favourite love interest from Persona 5, Ann. Whilst we have to admit that her skill selection is slightly better than our previous two, it’s still not quite complete. During the early game she is limited to single target heals, via Dia and Diarama, but by the time the mid and late game is breached, her usefulness will improve significantly. At this point she will gain access to the excellent Me Patra, which removes all ailments from all allies, and the group heal Mediarama will restore significant amounts of health thanks to her high magic statistic. We consider Ann to be on the fringes of managing to be your full time healer throughout Q2; she has no revive and a limited skill pool, but with a little help and a good sub persona, she’ll just about manage it.

Healer Skills

  • Dia – Light HP restored to 1 target.
  • Diorama – Medium HP restored to 1 target.
  • Mediarama – Medium HP restored to all allies.
  • Patra – Removes all ailments from 1 row.
  • Me Patra – Removes all ailments from all allies.
  • High Magic statistic.

3. Morgana

Morgana, Persona Q2

Alright, things are starting to heat up now. Next on our list is Morgana, the ‘mascot’ character of Persona 5. Immediately you’ll note that he has a better skill selection, including the full selection of group heals and even Mediarahan, which fully restores HP for the entire party. Further to this, he has access to a full health revive, which is actually more useful than it sounds as the game progresses, and these skills are rounded out by the fantastic Kitty & Trick Step, which increases evasion against every type of attack. Yes, you read that correctly, he gains evasion against every single attack going. All of this combines to make him a healer that comes with a good skill selection, and can do his job in more safety than usual!

Healer Skills

  • Dia – Light HP restored to 1 ally.
  • Media – Light HP restored to all allies.
  • Mediarama – Medium HP restored to all allies.
  • Mediarahan – Full HP restored to all allies.
  • Samarecarm – Revive 1 ally with 100% HP.
  • Kitty / Trick Step – Raises evasion against all attacks.
  • Lowest Magic stat of the healers shown here.

2. Yukiko

Yukiko, Persona Q2

The penultimate entry on our list is resident Persona 4 Inn owner, Yukiko. We should preface what we have to say about her with the information that she is a very good healer, and one that will easily heal and cleanse your team throughout, so you’re not going wrong if you decide to go with her. Her skills are fantastic; not only does she focus on group heals, which are much more useful than single target, but she can also naturally remove binds to either a single row or even the entire party! She even gains access to both revive skills! We this all not enough, she too has access to the same evasion skill as Morgana, named Illusive & Mirage Dance. The only real negative is her shocking low health pool, but if you can deal with this and give her a chunky sub persona, she’ll take care of your team just fine.

Healer Skills

  • Media – Light HP restored to all allies.
  • Mediarama – Medium HP restored to all allies.
  • Mutudi – Removes all binds from 1 row of allies.
  • Mamutudi – Removes all binds from all allies.
  • Recarm – Revive 1 ally with 50% HP.
  • Samarecarm – Revive 1 ally with 100% HP.
  • Illusive / Mirage Dance – Raises evasion against all attacks.
  • High Magic statistic.

1. Yukari

Yukari, Persona Q2

These kinds of lists, especially when a game has such a large cast, tend to be quite close at the top, leaving us with a difficult decision. Such a problem does not exist with Persona Q2, because there is one clear winner that stands head and shoulders above the rest: Yukari. In her base game she played the role of healer, but here she takes it to another level. Not only does she have access to group heals, a revive and a full cleanse in Amrita, but she comes with two absolutely incredible passives; Null M-Bind and Healing Hand. The former ensures that she can never have her magical skills bound, meaning your party will always have a way to restore health, even against the toughest of opponents. Secondly, the Healing Hand passive will ensure that she always restores a large amount of HP, since it basically doubles the amount healed. She may not have the largest spell list, but her passive will work with any spells that a sub persona provides, making her by far the most powerful healer in Persona Q2.

Healer Skills

  • Media – Light HP restored to all allies.
  • Mediarama – Medium HP restored to all allies.
  • Recarm – Revive 1 ally with 50% HP.
  • Amrita – Full HP restore and removal of all binds & ailments from 1 ally.
  • Null M-Bind – Immune to Magic Bind.
  • Healing Hand – HP restoring skills +100%.
  • High Magic statistics.
